JLPP members attended an academic lecture

On June 09, 2021, JLPP members attended an academic lecture in Shehe Campus of Beihang University. Associated professor Wenjiang Yang organized and hosted this lecture. Three experts were invited: Professor Junxian Yang from Institute of Applied Physics and Computational Mathematics, Associated Professor Yibai Wang and Associated Professor Surong Sun from School of Astronautics, Beihang University.

Prof. Yang gave a lecture about Field Reversed Configuration (FRC) which has a promising future for conceptual propulsion devices. He introduced the concept and the developing process of FRC in Applied Physics and Computational Mathematics.

Associated Prof. Wang gave a lecture about the history of electric propulsion in China. He introduced the differences for the chemical and electric propulsion and the EP devices made by different institute or universities in China.

Associate Prof. Sun introduced the works done by her group, which mainly focused on the CO2 transferring, Arch thrusters, μCats, etc. She also pointed out the importance of the cold plasma for the research on the EP.

We made Q&A after three lectures and gained lots of new knowledge. We really thank these three experts and Associated Prof. Wenjiang Yang.
